Severin v. Eckardstein

Beethoven at his best

"He is able to make the piano sing like a shy lover", commented a Dutch newspaper. Restrained and introverted, then again full of fire and temperament: Severin v. Eckardstein was born in Düsseldorf in 1978 and ranks among the great recent discoveries in the piano world. In the Beethoven city of Bonn, it will be a special event to be present at a premiere of this often internationally honoured artist. He will for the first time approach a milestone in Beethoven's oeuvre and play the Diabelli variations, alongside a late sonata by Schubert.

The former student of the renowned teacher of great talents in Hannover, Professor Karl-Heinz Kämmerling, is today well acquainted with the great concert halls of the world; in London, Munich, Berlin, St. Petersburg, Paris, Montreal, Vancouver, Hong Kong, Beirut, Tokio and Seoul. He can be heard regularly at international music festivals such as the Ruhr Piano Festival, which he has attended repeatedly.
