In addition to the well-known tens carry realised in his calculating machine for all four arithmetic operations, Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz also developed other ideas for tens carries. In his bachelor's thesis Mr Muhammet Üyümez examined Leibniz's carry of ten from 1677 and visualised the functional advantages and disadvantages in a 3D animation. This work beautifully illustrates Leibniz's idea-finding process.
