Lakatos

King of the Gypsy Fiddlers

Lakatos was born in 1965 as son of Janos Bihari, a member of the legendary gypsy dynasty which has had a decisive influence on Balkan violin-playing since the eighteenth century. Lakatos is a musician of many talent, equally at home in the role of a rugged gypsy fiddler playing Hungarian folk tunes, or in the role of a violinist playing classical or jazz pieces. One of his great admirers was Lord Yehudi Menuhin.
