Lecture at the Gerhard-Konow-Hörsaal at the Arithmeum
When adding two numbers, i.e. on a piece of paper, we unconsciously use basic algorithms we already learned in primary school. To make a computer do a similar calculation a matching algorithm has to be solidly „wired“ between the chip's different elements connecting theses to each other.
Usually it would not make sense to let the computer use the same algorithm humans would choose. In this lectures Prof. Rautenbach will explain and exemplify how to choose the right kind of algorithms for humans and computers.
