The various art exhibitions of the Arithmeum are regularly accompanied by programs for children of differing ages. Geometric constructivist art offers a wide field for many new discoveries. Even though the artists’ constructions seem at first sight to be very simple, they offer a vast number of ways to construct meaningful compositions. Experiments with varying shapes and forms and studies using different color combinations for obtaining totally new contrasts provide an exciting creative field. Often the essence can be expressed by such elementary means. The children are offered the chance to experience this for themselves by being given the opportunity to compose such pictures in line with the theme of the relevant exhibition. They can then take their little work of art home and present it proudly to their parents.
