„Yearning (to see) – Elena Lux-Marx at the Arithmeum“

Opening on March 17, 2019

The Swiss artist Elena Lux-Marx revives the idea of an „interaction of colors“, first postulated by Josef Albers, in her oeuvre through her subtle sensitivity for colors. With her compositions being both aesthetically appealing and enigmatic and constructive, she proves that the study of colors and their effect on us is as current a topic as ever. Contemplating the works of Elena Lux-Marx, one experiences a yearning to see, to fathom the visual phenomena – at the same time one is filled with a vague longing, comparable to the sensation a beautiful sunset causes; both caused by Elena Lux-Marx` hazy compositions and their unexpected vastness.
