Brical Model C
Coplanar Toothed Gear Adding Machine
ca. 1909
The pin adding machine of the manufacturing company The British Calculator in London is used for calculating with British currency: 12 pence = 1 shilling, 20 shillings = 1 pound. The technical equipment for the carryovers is designed accordingly. The designers and patent holders were Herbert Dickinson and his wife Mabel. From 1904 to about 1915, the adders were built mainly with concentric setting discs. The version introduced by the manufacturer as Model C is rather rare. Other models with concentric toothed gears are in the collection, e.g. FDM 6061.
