Einzelreihen-Schaltklinkenmaschine mit Zehnerbügel

Adix 2b
Single-row ratchet machine with ten-bar (ca. 1906)
This key-driven small adding machine was manufactured by Pallweber & Bordt, Mannheim, starting in 1903, later in a Bakelite housing. This is a very well-preserved example of an improved first version of this small adding machine, used for adding single digit summands. The improvement concerns the two gears, which are now of equal size, allowing a symmetrical design of the mechanism. The base plate is made of steel (instead of aluminum) and is perforated. Additionally, it has the (patented) ten-bar. An erasing device is not yet available.
The model designations were only introduced in 2009 by Georg Smolorz.
