Although geometric-constructivist art has never been at the center of the art scene in France, its influence extends far beyond the country's borders. Pioneering figures such as Auguste Herbin, Jean Gorin and Aurélie Nemours shaped entire generations of artists, while international players such as Victor Vasarely and Alberto Magnelli were in close contact with the French scene. In addition to well-known names, this catalog also presents lesser-known artists such as Marcelle Cahn and Jean Deyrolle as well as current representatives of constructivist art. The majority of the works come from the Lahumière Collection in Paris, supplemented by exhibits from the Arithmeum.
