Martin Grubinger is the shooting star of the percussion scene. The 23 year old Austrian musician has received the Leonard Bernstein Award at the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival and as the rising star of the Vienna Musikverein and the Vienna Concert House he is on a world tour for the duration of the 2007-08 season. Last year his percussion marathon "Showdown at the Vienna Musikverein" was an international sensation. During the Beethoven Festival he created a spectacular nocturnal percussion event. In the Arithmeum, Grubinger will introduce the audience to new and unusual facets of his ability within the intimate framework of a chamber concert.
