Markus Stockhausen and Ferenc Snétberger

Sound and Inspiration

Martin Stockhausen is an extremely versatile musician. As solo trumpeter, improviser and composer he is as much at home in Jazz as in contemporary and classical music. He took part in many premieres and is a regular guest at renowned international music festivals. Marcus Stockhausen worked for many years with his father, the composer Karlheinz Stockhausen, who wrote many works for him. He performed as soloist in his father's great dramatic musical works, for example from LICHT, on the stage of the Milano Scala, the London Opera in Covent Garden, and the Leipzig Opera House. He is well-known for unusual programmes and very different concert structures.

At his concert in the Arithmeum with the guitarist Ferenc Snétberger, he will delve into the realms of intuitive music. Both artists will play according to their momentary inspiration and in accordance with what the other is playing, as well as letting the spatial surroundings and the exhibited art impress them.
