Brunsviga C

Pinwheel machine

1896

With a capacity of 7 x 8 x 10 digits, the Brunsviga Model C is the smallest model built in the early years of production. It was not until 1925 that a machine with the reduced capacity 7 x 6 x 10 (Nova I model) came onto the market. The technical design of model C corresponds exactly to the model B built at the same time. The machine has no safety devices whatsoever. The result work has a tens carry only up to the 8th digit, so that errors can easily occur. The revolution counter does not have a tens transmission. The short crank of the first year can still be found regularly in this model, obviously the smaller capacity of the result movement meant that there was no risk of injury on the sled extended to the right. The simple slide movement affects a pin that engages in the base of the machine. For the decimal point position, pins must be inserted into pre-punched holes. From 1895 to 1906 812 machines were built. For further information see FDM 7124.
