Brunsviga J

Pinwheel machine (1908)

Starting in 1907, GNC built entirely new models that differed significantly from the previous designs both externally and technically. The most striking features were the setting levers, which were fixed during crank rotation, and the associated setting control mechanism, which kept the set number constantly visible. In addition, there were new safety devices that prevented the number in the setting mechanism from being adjusted during cranking and kept the machine locked as long as a setting was not made precisely. The machines were kept quite massive, so that they were certainly among the heavyweights among the pinwheel machines. The standard model of this series was the model J with the result mechanism located in the carriage, the revolution counter located above the EW (not movable, but with wandering drive, DRP 193943) and a setting control mechanism located at the front. When the crank is moved from its rest position, the setting levers are automatically locked. Unlocking is only possible in the engaged position of the crank by pressing the lever at the detent position. However, this complicates the operation of the machine, which probably did not prove successful in the long run. The later new designs (Nova series) did without such a safety device. Almost 3000 units of Model J were manufactured from 1907 to 1915. The price was 610 Reichsmark. This series includes the models H (with second revolution counter with ten transmission), G (with two result movements), N (with back transmission) and S Arithmotyp
