The Arithmeum is an essential institution of the University of Bonn and the Research Institute for Discrete Mathematics is an essential scientific institution of the University of Bonn.

All scientific events such as lecture courses and specialist lectures take place within the framework of the university curriculum and are listed on the websites of the Research Institute for Discrete Mathematics and of the University.

The Arithmeum is one of the many museums of the University of Bonn and is therefore committed to a scientific appraisal of its exhibits. This has led to a course of lectures on the history of mechanical calculating and to the introduction of special projects. The Arithmeum is an educational establishment which also offers chosen students the opportunity to work as assistants in order to learn how a museum of science history operates. The Arithmeum also offers places for trainees. At the present time, however, no such positions are available.

The University of Bonn supports the Arithmeum and is very happy to have such a special cultural centre as part of its campus, a centre that plays a role not only in university life but far beyond that in the city of Bonn and in the surrounding region and is widely recognized and appreciated.
