Constructivist Movement

Optical Art from the Arithmeum Collection

Guided tours on Sundays at 3 p.m.

This new exhibition comprises a special selection of pictures from the Arithmeum Collection which are all distinguished by an optical impression of movement. These effects are due solely to the subtle use of paint or are created by means of special relief structures, both of which require the movement of the viewer, or they involve actual movement within the picture. They are very impressively demonstrated in works by Josef Albers, Zden?k Sýkora, Adolf Richard Fleischmann, Leo Breuer, Matti Kujasalo, Carlos Cruz-Diez, Jesus Rafael Soto, Leo Erb, Luis Tomasello, Katharina Andersson, Carol Robertson, Thorsten Ridell and many other artists represented in the Arithmeum Collection. Take part in a guided tour on any Sunday at 3 p.m. and enjoy a moving insight into this art form!
