Julia Fischer (Violin)

„Solo for Julia“

Since the great Anne-Sophie Mutter there has, for years, not been such exceptional new blood among violinists in Germany as at present. Among this young elite, the eighteen year old Julia Fischer stands out as exceptionally talented, not only on account of her virtuosity, but also on account of her musicality and the maturity of her interpretation. In spite of her many concert tours at home and abroad, with conductors like Lorin Maazel, Giuseppe Sinopoli and Christoph Eschenbach, she remains youthfully natural. In May 2002 she passed her high school finals (Abitur) with flying colors. Julia Fischer, holder of the „Förderpreis des Deutschlandfunks 2001„, plays on a Stradivarius dating from 1716.
