Donations by the Lahumière gallery, Paris

The renowned Lahumière gallery in Paris has been representing geometric-constructivist artists from France for more than 50 years. Now, with the help of „her“ artists, proprietor Anne Lahumière decided on a donation to the art collection of the Arithmeum. Nine top-notch works of art changed hands and are now part of the Arithmeum collection which is one of the three biggest collections of this trend in art in German-speaking countries. Thanks to Anne Lahumière’s negotiating, additional paintings by Jean Legros, André Stempfel, Henri Prosi, Jean-François Dubreuil, Renaud Jaquier Stajnowicz, Charles Bezié, Yves Popet, Jean-Michel Gasquet and Nicholas Bodde can be admired in the Arithmeum. This small special exhibition with the new entries is also shown in our guided art tours on Sundays. The paintings give a nice overview of the wide range of this trend in art in France. They are timeless proof that geometry in its most beautiful execution can please and surprise the viewer again and again. We would like to thank Mrs. Lahumière as well as the artists for this generous donation!
