ColaLaila - Between classical and Synagogue Klezmer

09.10.2000

The group ColaLaila (“The whole night long” in Hebrew) enchants one with their intensity, particularly the spirited performance of the clarinettist Irith Gabrieli. They have been playing as a group since 1986, and in 1991 they won the first prize at the Klezmer festival in Zefat, Israel. Their programme sets no stylistic boundaries and their repertoire comprises classical pieces as well as Klezmer, jazz and their own compositions.
